This is for vista, xp, windows server 03 and 08. If you're running win 7 or 08 r2, microsoft fixed the issues and advices to not use the Getsystem and Setsystem file caches.

Some users that play on 64-bit Windows machines reported an issue which resulted in Windows using 75% or more of the physical memory when Age of Conan is started. Our technicians have looked into the problem and found out that it's a common problem in 64-bit Windows System when actively accessing large files. We now provide a tool to fix this issue. We are also working to get this fixed in the client so using a tool won't be necessary in the future but until then, users can fix the issue by using this tool.
Please read along for some additional information and instructions on how to download and use the tool.
Information:
This tool tunes Windows file cache size in a way that makes it work more efficiently with large files. By default, Windows file cache is unlimited on 64-bit systems, that can make it grow infinitely and fill up all available physical RAM when actively accessing large files. By setting its upper limit, we ensure that the players always have physical memory available for AoC and other applications, without sacrificing performance.
Here is a description of Windows cache algorithm and why it does make sense to tune it:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/976618
There is also a MS tool that does the same thing: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/e...displaylang=en
Instructions:
Download the ConanSystemTweaker.exe tool
Unpack the tool from the ZIP file and save it on your PC (for example to 'C:\temp\')
Press the Windows key + r to open the command line.
In the command line type the following to activate the tool (using 'C:\temp\' as an example of where the tool was unpacked to in step 2) :
Code:
C:\temp\ConanSystemTweaker.exe --maxfilecachesize=200000000
If you wish to reverse the changes made by the tool at a later time, do the following:
A) Press the Windows key + r to open the command line.
B) In the command line type the following to activate the tool (using 'C:\temp\' as an example of where the tool was unpacked to in step 2) :
Code:
C:\temp\ConanSystemTweaker.exe --maxfilecachesize=0
